Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam attended a press conference ahead of the much-awaited clash against Lahore Qalandars. Babar is in brilliant form and is performing really well in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2023. The Pakistan skipper was traded to Peshawar before the start of the season.

The 28-year-old didn’t have a great season last year as he was leading Karachi Kings and won just one match out of ten. Meanwhile, recently, during a press conference, Babar had a funny banter with a reporter

Reporter: "Babar (Azam), sabse aap haske milte hain, lekin Shaheen Shah Afridi ke saath kal aapka Gaddafi Stadium mein mukabala hai (Babar, you usually have a smile when you meet people but you play Shaheen Shah Afridi at Gaddafi Stadium next)"

However, Babar came up with a funny response which left everyone in splits in the conference.

Babar: "Ro kar milen unhain? Kya kare, nahi khele fir? Aap batayein (Should I cry and meet him, or should I not play? Please tell me)"

Playing against him is a challenge: Babar Azam

Babar later said that their effort will be the same whether they play against Shaheen or any other team. He also showered praise on the speedster and said that he is one of the best bowlers in Pakistan and has proved himself a lot.

“Whether we play against Shaheen and Lahore, the effort is always to give the best. The kind of bowler that he is and the way he is bowling presently, everyone knows that he is one of Pakistan’s best bowlers. He is improving day by day. Playing against him is a challenge and also gives me confidence, since I am playing the best bowler. It is difficult at times. Sometimes I dominate, sometimes he does,” added Babar.

Talking about PSL, Mohammad Rizwan's team Multan Sultans are in first place with four wins and eight points from five matches. Islamabad United are in the second spot with three wins and six points from four matches. Shaheen's Lahore Qalandars are in third place with four points, and Babar's Peshawar Zalmi are in fourth position with four points. Karachi Kings are fifth and Quetta Gladiators are the last i.e. sixth spot in the position.
