The Mumbai-based franchise is set to make a comeback in the upcoming 16th edition of the Indian T20 League after enduring a terrible last season where they finished at the bottom of the points table after winning only four matches out of 14. However, this time their squad is much better than the previous season as they have made some great additions to the team.

Before talking about that addition, we'll talk about Mumbai's captain Rohit Sharma, who recently talked about the new rules which will be introduced this season. The Indian Cricket Board implemented two new rules, the impact player rule and announcing the playing XI after the toss.

Rohit Sharma, wholeheartedly, welcomed these rules and said that he liked them. He also talked about their first match which would be against Bangalore and said that he will field their best 12 players (XI plus impact player) against them.

“I like that new rule and new idea in the Indian T20 League – Impact player and changing teams XI after the toss. I like it. Our first match is against Bangalore, we know how they play. So we’ll field our best 12 players (XI plus impact player) against them,” he said during an Instagram live session by the Mumbai-based franchise.

Jofra Archer set to play for Mumbai

Mumbai are the most successful franchise in the history of the cash-rich league with 5 trophies in their cabinet under Rohit. They will hope to get their hands on the trophy for the 6th time. Coming back to the new additions, the franchise broke the bank on Australian young all-rounder Cameron Green with a whopping price of INR 17.5 crores. It'd be interesting to see if his performance is worth the money he got.

Apart from him, England's star fast bowler will also be playing for Mumbai as he has recovered from his injury due to which he missed the last season. Archer, earlier, played for the Rajasthan-based franchise and produced some great match-winning performances. However, Mumbai will hope for more than that from him.
