The Legends League Cricket (LLC) second season is just one match away to be ended. The season has been filled with thrilling battles between the former cricketers. During the Eliminator match between India Capitals and Gujarat Titans, two former teammates Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth were involved in a heated exchange of words after the batter smashed the former World Cup winner for two back-to-back boundaries.
The former India captain called the pacer 'fixer' during the game and the pacer hit back at him after the match on his Instagram live. The umpires also sent their report on the controversy, but nothing was mentioned about Sreesanth’s claims of calling him a ‘fixer’. Umpires had to intervene in between to move them apart during the game.
Sreesanth was happy about Gambhir’s dismissal in Qualifier 2 of the LLC 2023 on Thursday against the Manipal Tigers. After Amitoze Singh ran out the batter with a direct hit, Sreesanth took to his Instagram story and wrote, "Beautiful throw, well done @amitozesingh14."
Sreesanth was guilty of breaching his contract: LLC
The LLC notice said, "Sreesanth was guilty of breaching his contract while playing in the T20 tournament. It also stated that, "Talks with the pacer will only be initiated once he removes the videos criticising the player within the preview of the league."
Sreesanth had said, "Just wanted to clear some air on what happened with Mr. Fighter, who always fights with all his colleagues for no reason whatsoever. He doesn’t even respect his own senior players, including Viru bhai and a lot of people. That’s exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he just kept on calling me, something which is very rude and something which should not have been said by Mr Gautam Gambhir."
His wife also supported him stating, "It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from active cricket. After all upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when this kind of behaviour comes up on the ground. Shocking truly shocking."
