Amid the ongoing third Test of the Ashes 2023, Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey found himself in a silly controversy. A barber in England has revealed that Carey owes him 30 pounds for a haircut that he didn't pay for. He further warned the Australian wicketkeeper-batsman to pay the due amount by Monday.

Adam Mahmood, 39, is prepared to wait because Carey agreed to pay later because he didn't have any cash. Carey has been in the spotlight since stumping Jonny Bairstow in the second Test at Lord's. Adam claimed that Marnus Labuschagne, David Warner, and Usman Khawaja all paid but that Carey did not. Speaking with a media platform, he said that he would wait until Monday.

"They all came in just before we shut the saloon. We cut their hair and had fun with them. We don’t accept cards, and Carey was without money. He could have returned to his hotel five minutes from the saloon, but instead said he would transfer it. Maybe it skipped out of his mind. I won’t be happy if he doesn’t pay by Monday", the barber told The Sun.

Can England bounce back in the third test?

After facing a humiliating defeat in the first two Tests of the Ashes in 2023, England is looking to make a comeback. In the ongoing third Test, Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision went well with the team, as with early strikes, hosts pushed Visitors out of the equation. However, Mitchell Marsh fought well and helped the Aussies post a competitive total of 263/10 in the first inning.

In response, with the help of Ben Stokes's amazing batting performance, England posted 237 runs for 10 wickets, trailing Australia by 26 runs in the first innings. In the second innings, Australia scored 116-4 until the stumps on day 2. England would look to get them soon and chase a target with a lot of time left in the game.
