Lionel Messi is regarded as one of the greatest Footballers to have ever graced the sport. He recently also achieved the most prestigious title of World Champion by winning the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in December 2022.
Apart from being one of the greatest footballers in history, Messi of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is also one of the sport’s most humble superstars. The Argentine displayed his humility by wearing a pair of £10 slippers sent to him by a fan following the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Messi reached the pinnacle of his career last year when he inspired Argentina to win the prestigious FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar. The former FC Barcelona player had three assists and seven goals, including a brace against France in the final. At the tournament, he also won the Golden Ball.
After his victory, the Argentine returned to his hometown of Rosario to celebrate. He also hosted former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez and his family at his home just before Christmas. Messi was spotted wearing Argentina slippers with the iconic number 10 at the time.

This was a gift from a fan who made them for the PSG maestro last year, but nobody expected the legendary playmaker to wear them. In addition, when the fan opened his Instagram account, he discovered private messages from the superstar.
“Hi, Luciano, all well? I’m Leo. I wanted to thank you for the slippers. They are super good, and so is the box. I’d like to see if you can make one for my sons and the pink Paris [PSG] one for my wife,” Messi wrote, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
“Sizes are 33, 29, 26 and [his wife] Antonela 35. Mine are 42/43. Sorry I’ve seen your messages only now!” he added.
Following the World Cup, the legendary forward returned to PSG and has maintained his excellent form. He scored the game-winning goal in the team’s 4-3 win over Lille last weekend.
