Rinku Singh, who won hearts in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fans by smashing 5 sixes in 5 balls, is yet to make an appearance for India. Rinku was expected to make the Indian T20 team after a great innings in IPL 2023. However, he did not receive an opportunity against the West Indies.

He scored 474 runs in 14 IPL 2023 matches, with an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53. This season, he also had four half-centuries. Will Rinku Singh get a chance in the Ireland series?

Rinku was not disappointed even when he got the chance. As explained in the Instagram story, he is ready to wait. He visited Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. However, following the West Indies series, there was uncertainty over Rinku's prospects of making the Indian selection for the Ireland series.

On August 18, 20, and 23, India will play three Twenty20 matches against Ireland. India intends to send a youthful squad there. Rinku may be offered a chance as a member of the team. Regardless of how awful the West Indies are currently playing, India's selectors did not want to play against them.

But they want to take that 'risk' against a weak Ireland. So Rinku may be given a shot there. The selectors have acknowledged that it is impossible to offer everyone an equal opportunity in a series. As a result, they want to offer everyone a chance.

A board source told a website, "Apart from Rinku, those who have played well in the IPL will be taken to Ireland. The selectors don't want to give everyone a chance at once. Seven players from the ODI squad against the West Indies are not in the T20I squad. These cricketers are very important in Asia Cup and World Cup. So they are rested. And that's why the youngsters will get a chance in the upcoming series against weaker teams."
