Irfan was last seen in the cash-rich league in 2017 while playing for the Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS), however, he played only 1 match in that season.

Meanwhile, Irfan recently shared a picture with former legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni on his social media handle Twitter. It is expected that Irfan went to ask Dhoni about his injured knee as it is also visible in the picture that Dhoni has put up an ice pack on his left knee. Meanwhile, Irfan also talked about the same and said that the Dhoni-led team will now try to make it to the Top 2 spots. He even added that the four-time champions are a ruthless team and have better records in the playoffs.

"CSK is sure to qualify for the playoffs. Now they will try to make it to the Top-2. I always say that whenever any team comes to their home ground, 'Chacha Chowdhary' MSD closes the door of his stadium and thrashes the opposition mercilessly. CSK is a ruthless team and it deals with opposition teams in its own way," Pathan told Star Sports.
