After reaching a deal for Chelsea's Mason Mount, Manchester United are anticipated to pursue Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Red Devils will now start talks with the Serie A team regarding the former Cameroon international, according to MailSport.

After three offers for Mount were turned down by Chelsea, United were eventually able to come to an arrangement with them. The standoff between the two teams has officially been broken, and the sum is expected to be £55 million + $5 million in add-ons.

The player and Manchester United have already reached a personal agreement on a contract that will last until 2028. According to The Telegraph, Mount is anticipated to make £250,000 a week, with bonuses raising that figure to £300,000.

Following the completion of the Mount transaction, United are anticipated to step up their quest for Onana. David de Gea does not suit the description of the ball-handling custodian that manager Erik ten Hag is searching for. On June 30, the Spaniard's current contract will expire. According to rumours, United withdrew from an agreement that was made available to the player.

Ten Hag connection for Onana

Ten Hag and Onana previously collaborated at Ajax. Since joining Inter Milan on a free transfer a year ago to replace longtime starter Samir Handanovic, the 27-year-old custodian has flourished. He was a key contributor to the Nerazzurri's Champions League victory, recording eight shutouts in the process.

Onana is anticipated to get an offer from Manchester United that is greater than €50 million. David Harrison, the head of football operations for the Red Devils, allegedly had a meeting alongside Inter sporting director Piero Auslio in Ibiza, according to the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport. According to reports, both teams are eager to reach a decision swiftly.

The 27-year-old, who has previously worked alongside the Dutchman at Ajax, more closely resembles Erik ten Hag's ideal custodian. If they succeed in their pursuit of Onana, it continues to be known if they will transfer De Gea onto a less expensive contract.
