England Test captain Ben Stokes is set to reverse his ODI retirement decision in order to help his team defend their title in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. This decision of his might also cost him missing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

The all-rounder can come out of retirement only if present England white-ball captain Jos Buttler asks him to do so. He is presently suffering from a knee injury, as said earlier by him that he would not be returning to the team and will undergo surgery for his troubling knee during the time of the World Cup.

It further states, "While concern lingers over Stokes's knee which might require operation at some stage, Telegraph Sport understands that he would be prepared to miss next season's IPL if he needed a gap in his schedule to help him recover."
