Hitting 6 sixes in one over is such a record that is rarely made in cricket and when they are made, there would not be a single media that would not talk about it. This record was achieved yet again during the PSL exhibition match played in Pakistan on February 5, Sunday between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. The Gladiators' star and talented Pakistani batter Iftikhar Ahmed hit 6 sixes against the bowler, who is also the interim sports minister of Pakistan's Punjab province, Wahab Riaz.

Iftikhar scored 94 runs in 50 balls in a 20-over exhibition match and the batter looked on fire leaving Zalmi's pacers clueless. This was the first time in the history of PSL that an exhibition match was conducted and it was a fantastic outing for both teams, given the tournament is just a week away. And in the contest, Iftikhar's blitzkrieg innings which also featured 6 sixes in 6 balls won the hearts of the audience, given that it was one of the moments to take away from his innings. Batting first against Zalmi on the strength of Iftikhar's bat, the Gladiators scored 184 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Iftikhar Ahmed achieved the feat of hitting 6 sixes in the last over of his team's innings. The result was that Iftikhar, who scored only 50 runs in the first 42 balls, in no time added 44 more runs to his score in the next 8 balls.

Iftikhar also played well in Bangladesh Premier League

Iftikhar hit the first six in the square leg region. The next one was a bit straighter, while the third one was straight above the bowler's head. Wahab switched sides and came around the wicket for the fourth ball, but Iftikhar sent it flying over the cover boundary. The fifth was smacked in the third-man region, while the last one sailed over the third-man boundary as well.

Earlier in the contest, Riaz took the wicket of Khushdil Shah in the 17th over of Quetta's innings, who shared a 51-run partnership with Iftikhar. Khushdil got out after scoring 36 runs and however, Iftikhar's explosion with the bat continued from the other end. Before joining Quetta Gladiators for this exhibition match, Ahmed was in action for Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League. He played 10 matches for the team, scoring 347 runs, registering one ton and three half-tons.
