Four months after the Jos Buttler-led England cricket team won the T20 World Cup, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak celebrated the title victory with the English players. The England team won the trophy for the second time by defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the 20-20 World Cup final played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia in November 2022.

All the members of the team that won the title for England in the 2022 20-20 World Cup met the Prime Minister of the country on this occasion. During this, Sunak also played cricket with all the players. The video of Sunak playing cricket is going viral on social media. In the video, all the players of the England team including Sunak are playing cricket in formal dress. He also congratulated the players and revealed that he is a big fan of the game.

“As both Prime Minister and a lifelong cricket fan, it was a pleasure to welcome members of the victorious World Cup-winning side and young cricketers from the ACE program to Number 10. This is a hugely exciting time for English cricket, with success on the field across all formats and the Ashes taking place in England this summer. Cricket is a sport for everyone and I know that the success of the team will inspire kids from all backgrounds to get involved in the game," Sunak said in a statement, according to a report in The Independent.

England lost three-match T20I series in March 2023 against Bangladesh

England faced Pakistan in the final of the 2022 20-20 World Cup. The bowlers dominated the match, but England won in the end. Sam Curan's contribution was the highest in making England the world champion. Curran bowled brilliantly throughout the tournament. Especially in the last over, he took wickets fiercely. England is the first team in the world to have simultaneously won the 50-over World Cup and 20-20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the world champions recently suffered a 0-3 defeat in the T20I series against Bangladesh. With this defeat, Jos Butler's team has come under severe criticism. However, Butler has expressed hope that his team will make a tremendous comeback. The England team is performing brilliantly in Tests, but the performance of this team in limited overs is not as consistent as in Tests.
