Former Australian captain Steve Smith is, currently, in action in the County Championship as he is playing for Sussex and displaying his brilliant form. Indian veteran Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara is also part of the same team and both also played together and it was a treat to watch two of the greatest of all-time Test batters playing together.

Smith is toiling hard for the upcoming Test Championship final against Indian and also Ashes Series with Australia. However, it is not a great sign for the Indian bowlers to see Smith in great form ahead of the grand Test final. Smith has the ability to turn the game single-handedly and his past records against the Men in Blue are also great.

Can India lift the Test Championship trophy this time?

On the other hand, the Indian players, who will also be part of the Test Championship final squad, are currently involved in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League except for KL Rahul, who has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 and the Test Championship Final as well due to a leg injury occured during the cash-rich league. Pujara, who is not part of the IPL, is busy playing in the County Championship and also in great form, however, he scored a duck in his recent innings which might be a tense situation for the Indian batting lineup.

On June 7 at The Kennington Oval in London, the second round of the Test Championship Final between Team India and Australia will begin. India is making its second appearance on the big stage, and this is the first Test Championship Final ever for Australia.

For the record, Virat Kohli led Team India to victory in the inaugural competition as they advanced all the way to the finals. Sadly, they were defeated by the New Zealand cricket team in the decisive match.
