N Jagadeesan, B Sai Sudharsan shatter several List-A records, amass staggering 416-run stand

The Tamil Nadu openers put a record-breaking partnership and registered the highest List A opening partnership. Jagadeesan hit a double-century but could not convert it into a 300, although it was on the cards. Jagadeesan is currently in red-hot form, smashing five consecutive centuries, and he is the first-ever player to do this in men’s List A cricket.

Talking about the match, the duo put up a 416-run partnership. Sudharsan played a brilliant knock of 154 off just 102 balls which includes 2 sixes and 19 fours. But the highlight of the innings was delivered by Jagadeesan as he scored 277 runs off just 141 balls. He smashed 15 sixes and 25 fours during his innings.

With the help of the sensational opening stand between the two talented batters, Tamil Nadu scored a humongous total of 506 runs in a 50-over game. Arunachal Pradesh bowlers were taken for plenty all around the park by the Tamil Nadu openers, and the bowlers salvaged to take only 2 wickets.

The opening duo refused to give their wickets and were belting every bowler out of the boundary line. They hit 44 fours and 17 sixes together. And Jagadeesan has registered 114*, 107, 168, and 128 in his previous four games in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Jagadeesan made full use of his current form and was unstoppable today. After bringing up his century in just 76 balls, he switched gears and smashed the next 100 runs in just 38 deliveries. And it did not end there as he added 77 more runs to not only surpass Rohit Sharma’s List A record of 264 but also managed to break the all-time record of the highest individual score in List A cricket.

The 26-year-old now made a headline for himself before the upcoming mega Indian T20 League 2023 auction. Jagadeesan is recently released from the Chennai Franchise, he played only seven matches for Chennai but could not utilize the opportunity given to him. But after his performance in Vijay Hazare Trophy, he will be on the radar of every franchise.

Indian T20 League 2023 auction is set to take place on 23 December in Kochi. Many big names are released from their previous franchises and all will be eying on the auction. Some new entrants will also be seen in the next edition of the cash-rich league.
