Pakistan captain Babar Azam was criticised after the Asian Giants finished at the bottom of the table in the Asia Cup Super 4 stage and failed to qualify for the final. They lost to India and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage and were out of the tournament. Many speculations arose that the skipper was involved in a verbal argument with the team's star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Babar will be leading the Pakistani side for the first time in the 50-over tournament and the third time in a major event after two T20 World Cups in 2021 and 2022. He will be under a lot of pressure with the World Cup just a few days away. He himself has been the No.1 ODI batter for some time now, but he has failed in the Asia Cup. If his poor show of batting continues in the World Cup might take away the spot as Shubman Gill is knocking just behind him.

Now, the 28-year-old batter found himself on the wrong side of the law as he was fined for exceeding the speed limit while driving on a highway. This occurred on a busy stretch of the Punjab motorway. According to the reports he drove at a speed of over 150 kmph. It is more than exceeding the legal limit on the Punjab motorway. Earlier he was caught by Police for not having a proper number plate on his vehicle.

Babar Azam penalised for traffic violations

Previously, Babar was charged with breaking traffic rules on September 17 in Lahore's Gulberg. He was been penalised 570 INR (2000 PKR), which was imposed for two violations, driving without a license and lane violation. Now he was caught overspeeding his car on the highway. Local authorities instantly issued a ticket to the Pakistani batter, imposing a fine for his violation of traffic rules. He cooperated with the officers, accepting the ticket and accepting his mistake.

Pakistan team has finally got their visa issues cleared. The players and support staff received it 48 hours before they travelled to India for their World Cup campaign.
