India and Australia skippers, Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins respectively addressed the media after the WTC Final 2023. On Day Five of the summit clash, India resumed with 164/3 on the board, needing 280 to win. The team was expected to put up a fight but was bowled out for 234 runs before Lunch. After the game, both skippers answered the questions

One of them was about whether the Test Championship final must be a 'Best of Three'. The India skipper said '3 match series for the WTC Final will be ideal in the next cycle,' Rohit Sharma said. On the other hand, Cummins said 'Players win medals in Olympics with just one final,' Pat Cummins said. Meanwhile, the fans have roasted Sharma for his comments.

Aussie mindset has always been like that. This doesn't mean that they can't compete in a three match series but it shows what it means for them when it comes to play in big match like WTC final. That's why you play just one final when everybody is fit & ready to give their 100%.

Meanwhile, India has become the first team to lose two World Test Championship finals. The last edition was won by New Zealand, who finished second last in the 2021-23. Australia, who missed out the last time, was the first team to qualify for the final.
