On December 30, 2022, Rishabh Pant met with a severe accident in the wee hours of the day. He was rescued by a truck driver who had no idea about the cricketer. Meanwhile, the left-hander was rushed to a hospital and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A few hours after this, the Indian Cricket Board issued a statement on the details of the injury.
Also, they promised to take care of the Delhi player. Currently, after being in the ICU, he has been shifted to a private ward as he has recovered a bit. The wicketkeeper batter has been shifted to a hospital in Mumbai from Dehradun. Meanwhile, the board took to Twitter and posted another update on Pant's recovery. Abhinav Bindra, who won the Gold Medal in shooting for India in the 2008 Olympics replied on the post.
He urged the board to take care of the mental well-being of the former India U19 player.
"Wonderful that the board is looking after Rishabh’s recovery. Must also provide psychological support as part of the healing and recovery process," Bindra tweeted.
