The 2023 ODI World Cup has been the tournament of collapses. During the Sri Lanka vs Australia match, the Islanders were looking in fine touch with their openers firing from the top. But from 152/1 they got crumbled to 209/10.

In the next innings, the veteran Aussie opener David Warner was furious after Decision Review System (DRS) and Hawk-Eye failed to help him overturn an on-field LBW call against the Islanders.

The Aussies got a good start, but in the 4th over of the match against Dilshan Madushanka, the Southpaw tried to play a pull shot against the bowler. He got hit under the knee roll near the line of the leg stump. The umpire raised his finger and Warner took the review.

The Hawk-Eye showed two reds and the Umpire's Call on clipping the leg stump. He thumped his bat on his pad in anger while shouting something before leaving the pitch. In a much-needed winning match, the Aussie bowlers performed superbly. During the chase, Australia again were in a struggle as they lost quick wickets of Warner and Steve Smith in the same over of Madushanka. They were 24/2 at one stage.

Here's the video

Mitchell Marsh scores a much-needed half-century

Mitchell Marsh looked in good touch as the opener scored his first 50 of the World Cup. He scored 52 runs off 51 deliveries, hitting 9 fours. The innings came just in time when the five-time world champions were again looking in trouble. Marnus Labuschagne gave support on the other end of the crease as the batter scored 40 runs.

Josh Inglis, who was the wicketkeeper for the Aussies, scored the highest run for them, with 58 in the bag. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers as the leg-spinner picked up four wickets. Australia is a few runs away to taste their first victory of the ODI World Cup 2023. After losing two of their games the Aussies have bounced back as champions in the mega event. Fans would be happy to see Australia back in their winning ways.
