England vs Pakistan in ODI World Cup 2023 was played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Both the teams have played their last game of the tournament. The defending champions have not performed as per the expectations in the competition as they have failed to qualify for the knockouts. They had lost 6 games and won three in the event they won their last two matches which gave them a spot in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Jos Buttler's side have failed to have an impact like reigning champions.
Pakistan officially has been eliminated from the tournament. Babar Azam's side failed to qualify as they had to chase down a target of 338 runs in 6.2 overs which was practically impossible. The Men in Green now have failed to qualify for the knockouts for two consecutive seasons.
England batted first after winning the toss and posted a big total of 337/9. With three batters Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes scoring half-centuries respectively. Stokes was the highest scorer for his side as he scored 84 runs off 76 balls. In reply, Pakistan was not able to chase down the target and was bowled out for 244 runs.
