WATCH: Fans engage in brutal fight during India vs Afghanistan ODI World Cup 2023 match

During the match in the national capital, a huge fight erupted in the stands, the fight took place between India and Afghanistan fans. The video shows Indian fans engaged in a physical altercation.

India beat Afghanistan by eight wickets, in their second match of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, New Delhi. Rohit Sharam and Co. finished the game with 15 overs to spare. During the match in the national capital, a huge fight erupted in the stands, the fight took place between India and Afghanistan fans. The video shows Indian fans engaged in a physical altercation in the stands of the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

It is not the first time that Arun Jaitley Stadium has witnessed a fight in the stands during a cricket match. Earlier this year, fans were clashing during an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Previously  Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan and Afghanistan fans ended up in a brutal fight. 

Skipper Rohit scored a brilliant century and surpassed the record of the great Sachin Tendulkar's most centuries record in World Cup history. Tendulkar had scored 6 centuries in 44 innings and six World Cups. While Rohit after the century against Afghanistan which was his 7th century in 20 innings that he has played in the World Cup. He took only 61 balls to reach the milestone. Before being dismissed he scored 131 off 84 balls.

Rohit Sharma carnage at Delhi 

After winning the toss Afghanistan elected to bat first. They set a defendable target of 272 for 8. Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 80 runs and Azmatullah Omarzai 62 runs and led Afghanistan from a struggling situation of 63/3. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India as the pacer picked up 4 wickets. 

In response, India was off to a fiery start with Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Rohit Sharma played an innings of 131 runs off 84 deliveries. Virat Kohli played a brilliant knock of 85 runs in the first match against Australia. He again scored a crucial 55 runs off 56 balls and took India home as they won the match by 8 wickets.
