Afghanistan beat Netherlands by seven wickets in ODI World Cup 2023, at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. They have won their fourth game in the tournament. The Afghans have been in good form in the tournament, so far as they have defeated England and Sri Lanka in the mega event for the first time. They are currently sitting in 5th position of the table and have a chance to qualify for the semi-final as well.
Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first they were looking good after they lost their opener Wesley Barresi in the very first over. Then Max O'Dowd and Colin Ackermann stitched a partnership of 70 runs before the former was run out. Both the batters were looking good but after the run out the innings collapsed from 73/2 to 93/4. Noor Ahmed and Mohammad Nabi spun a web around the Dutch batters as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals.
At the end, Roelof van der Merwe and Aryan Dutt tried to score some runs but they could not as they were bundled out for 179 runs. Experienced Nabi was the pick of the bowlers for the Afghans.
