Australia beat India by six wickets in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Sunday. The Men in Blue have won 10 matches and performed brilliantly in the tournament and a loss in the final does not make them a bad team at all. Australia did their homework pretty well bowled in that line and length and batted superbly in the second innings while chasing the target of 241 runs.

The Aussie won their sixth World Cup and second time defeated India in the final. Opener David Warner tweeted something cheeky after their win. The first time they defeated was 20 years back in 2003 when Sourav Ganguly was the captain and Ricky Ponting scored a century against the Men in Blue at Johannesburg, South Africa. Warner was brilliant for the Kangaroos in the competition as he played some match-winning knocks for the side.

Warner scored 535 runs in 11 matches scoring 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries with an average of 48.63. He has been a key to Australia's success in the competition. The left-handed batter might have played his last ODI World Cup and ended it on a high note.

Well did you see that happening: David Warner

Warner tweeted saying, "Well did you see that happening?? We did, come on Australia. 0-2 and written off." He trolled India, after the game. India is still to win a final against Australia as they lost the World Test Championship (WTC) earlier this year. The wait for the major trophy continues as team India is yet to win it after 2013.

Pat Cummins after the game said, "I think we saved our best for last. Couple of big match players stood up, and we're pretty stuffed. We've been batting first pretty much for the whole tournament, today we thought, it's a good night to chase down, we thought it might actually get a little bit easier. Everyone was pretty keen to get out there. It was a bit slower than I thought, didn't particularly spin probably as much as we thought either. Everyone adjusted pretty well and bowled some tight lines."
