The Indian bowling came to the fore on Saturday when they took on Pakistan in Ahmedabad. The two teams came to the Narendra Modi Stadium to play their third game of the ODI World Cup 2023.
The arch-rivals were meeting in the ODI World Cup for the eighth time. Babar Azam and his Pakistan was asked to bat first after Rohit Sharma won the toss. This caught a lot of fans by surprise as Ahmedabad is known to be a batting wicket.
Shubman Gill was back in the Indian playing XI and he replaced Ishan Kishan. Pakistan on the other hand went in with an unchanged team. The two teams have a 100% record during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament so far.
Pakistan lose 8 wickets for 36 runs –
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj opened the bowling for India against Abdullah Shafique and Imam Ul Haq. The two Pakistani openers got off to a flier as they hit Siraj for 12 runs off his first wicket. 41 runs were added for the opening wicket before India made the first breakthrough.
Abdullah Shafique was out LBW for 20 when he was beaten for pace by Siraj. Imam Ul Haq though kept going as he added 32 key runs for the 2nd wicket with Babar Azam. Hardik Pandya got the wicket of Imam Ul Haq out for 36 caught by KL Rahul.

Mohammad Siraj then turned the match on his head when he had Babar Azam out bowled for 56. The score at that point was 155/3 and the Indian bowlers did not let go off the chance. Pakistan were bowled out for 191 in the 43rd over losing their last 8 wickets for 36 runs.
