India and Pakistan are playing the 12th game of the ODI World Cup 2023 game on Saturday. The Narendra Modi Stadium welcomed both teams to face each other for the 8th time in World Cup matches.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, won the toss and chose to field first. Shubman Gill replaced Ishan Kishan in the Indian playing XI. That was the only change that the team made as Gill had gained his fitness.

Babar Azam did not make any changes after their successful run chase on Tuesday against Sri Lanka. This was the first time in seven years that Pakistan was playing a game in India. As far as we speak about ODI cricket this is after 10 years the two teams are facing each other.

Virat Kohli questions Mohammad Rizwan’s time-wasting tactics –

Mohammad Rizwan scored 131 not out, which was his career-best score in ODI Cricket. This helped the Pakistan team beat Sri Lanka by six wickets to get their second win in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Virat Kohli was visibly irritated when Mohammad Rizwan was seen taking a lot of time. The 31-year-old was seen taking time between deliveries as Kohli was seen looking at his wrist. This was perhaps a sign to the umpires that the batter was deliberately consuming time.

The Indian bowling unit started slow as Abdullah Shafique and Imam Ul Haq opened the innings. Both the openers added 41 runs as there were boundaries on offer on a quick outfield. The first wicket came in the form of Shafique who was out LBW to Siraj for 20.

Imam Ul Haq and Babar Azam then added 32 runs for the second wicket. Hardik Pandya was hit for a four by the left-handed opener. The next ball Imam poked at an away-going ball only to edge it to KL Rahul to be out for 36.

It was then the senior pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan who went after the Indian bowling. Rohit Sharma and his unit looked lost for ideas as the pair picked up momentum. Azam reached his fifty with a four thanks to a full toss from Kuldeep Yadav.

The third wicket stand worth 82 was broken by Siraj who beat Babar for pace. The Pakistan skipper was out for 50 runs off 58 balls with 7 fours in his innings. This was the second wicket for Siraj which was a huge moment for India.
