India vs England in ODI World Cup 2023 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. The Men in Blue are batting first on a difficult wicket of Lucknow. Chris Woakes and David Willey have created problems for the batters. Virat Kohli went back to the pavilion after scoring a duck. The former skipper faced nine balls and ended up gifting his wicket to Willey. The crowd at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow was silenced after the batter was back in the dugout.

This is the first duck in the 56 innings for the former India skipper. After 8 dot balls, he tried to open the account by stepping out but could not time the ball and ended up giving a regulation catch to Ben Stokes. The batter has so far scored 85, 55, 16, 103, and 95 in his first 5 innings. India is currently the only undefeated side in the World Cup 2023.

On the other hand, England are currently at the bottom of the table as they have one match and lost four matches. India have not made any changes to the side. Jos Buttler's side will be hoping to gain some momentum after winning this match. They are almost out of contention for the race semi-final.

India wearing black armbands

Rohit Sharma's side is wearing black armbands in honour of the late legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi. The spinner passed away recently last week Monday, October 23, at the age of 77. Bedi was a member of the 1983 squad that won the World Cup for India. He has been one of the finest spinner in India. He has played in 67 Tests for India during the period of 1967 and 1979 and picked up 266 wickets. In 10 ODIs he picked seven wickets. He was an important member of India's first win against East Africa in 1975 he bowled 8 maidens.

Rohit Sharma has been there in the crease along with KL Rahul and has been nearing his fifty. The skipper needs to build the innings along with Rahul so that India can score 250-275 runs on a tricky wicket of Lucknow.
