ODI World Cup 2023: Five players to watch out for in India vs Bangladesh clash

India are in sensational form in ODI World Cup 2023. They have won three out of three matches so far in the marquee tournament. They are set to face Bangladesh on October 19 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. Shakib Al Hasan's side won their first match but have lost their last two matches against England and New Zealand respectively. 

They would like to turn the tables around in their favour against the favourites of the World Cup. The Bangla Tigers have done that in 2007 when they shocked India by defeating them in the first match. Things have changed after that loss, they have yet to give up a fight against the Men in Blue since the 2007 win.

5. Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the Bangladesh rising star. The all-rounder has been sensational with the bat and with the ball as well. He has performed brilliantly against India earlier this year. He has been that one player for the Bangla Tiger who has been floated in the batting order whenever required. Miraz took three wickets in the first match and scored a half-century when they defeated Afghanistan.

4. Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah has been in sensational form since his return to the side. He has performed superbly in the Asia Cup and the ongoing World Cup. The pacer is currently the highest wicket-taker for his side and topping the chart of the highest wicket-taker in the World Cup as well. The 29-year-old pacer has currently taken 8 wickets in the mega event at an average of 11.62 and an economy of 3.44. He bowled brilliantly against their arch-rivals Pakistan and picked two wickets in that match too.

3. Shakib Al Hasan

Captain Shakib Al Hasan performed with the bowl in the marquee event. But he is yet to take charge with the bat in the mega event. He bowled brilliantly against Afghanistan and picked three wickets in their only win so far in the tournament. Shakib has so far played 4 matches against India in the World Cup. He has 29 wickets against the Men in Blue in the ODI format. He will be a key player if Bangladesh needs to upset the two-time World Champions in the tournament once more.

2. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the most experienced batters when it comes to run chases. The batter has shown that ability once again in their first match against Australia when India was struggling 2/3 at one stage while chasing a target of 200 runs. The former India skipper scored 85 runs off 116 balls and made sure that India was close to the score. He made a fifty against Afghanistan and was unbeaten at 55 runs. He will be the key player as he made his debut World Cup century against the Bangla Tigers back in 2011. 

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has found his form in the World Cup. He was out for a duck against Australia. In the second match against Afghanistan, he broke several records in that match. He scored a brilliant hundred and became the player with the most number of centuries (7) in the World Cup. Rohit broke Chris Gayle's record of most international sixes he is now 556 sixes in 473 innings. He scored a blistering knock of 86 runs against Pakistan. He has so far scored two hundred in the two matches he played in the marquee tournament against them.
