It's a sight when you slam a ton there- Sunil Gavaskar
Against New Zealand, Virat played one of his best innings. On a good wicket, Virat helped India with a score of 95(104). Many were sad that Kohli could not score a hundred in the match. Reacting to the same, Gavaskar felt that Kohli's 50th ODI hundred is not too far away. "Kohli will slam his 50th ODI Century against South Africa at the Eden Gardens and what better occasion than his birthday?” said Gavaskar.
The former India cricketer added that it would be great to see the Kolkata crowd appreciating Kohli. "It's a sight when you slam a ton there because the Kolkata crowd gives you a standing ovation, and cheers for you, the air is filled with whistles and claps. It is a moment to savour for every batter,” added Gavaskar, who felt that Virat would complete his milestone against South Africa.
