After the wicket of Mitchell Marsh the Aussie batter winked at the Indian skipper while returning to the dugout.  Marsh got an under edge to his ball and was caught behind.

Mitchell Marsh winks to Rohit Sharma

India vs Australia final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Australia won the toss and elected to field first and the five-time world champions showed great intent in front of the most formidable batting lineup of the tournament. Rohit Sharma gave the Men in Blue a good start from the top of the order. The pitch was difficult to bat on and Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa bowled brilliantly in the middle overs. 

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored fifties respectively on a difficult wicket. The pitch was relatively slower they lost Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer in the space of five balls, and they were struggling at 81-3. Rohit went back for 47 runs to increase the run rate. The two-time world champions could only score 240 runs as they were unable to score runs in the middle overs. 

Mitchell Starc picked three wickets and bowled brilliantly. Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly and the skipper was economical picking the two wickets with an important wicket of Virat Kohli.

India bowlers give a good start

In response, the Indian pace attack once again gave a brilliant start to the side as they picked three quick wickets inside 10 overs back footing the Aussies. After the wicket of Mitchell Marsh the Aussie batter winked at the Indian skipper while returning to the dugout. Marsh got an under edge to his ball and was caught behind.

But Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head built a good partnership. Both the batters have stitched a partnership of over 100 runs. Head has been the explosive between both of them. The left-handed opener had 85 runs off 81 balls and nearing his hundred. The batter has been in superb form and he gave a good and explosive start. 

India will have to pick wickets as the Aussies are controlling the game they are 167/3 and need 74 runs in 20 overs. Labuschange is on 37 runs off 71 balls.
