Rahul Dravid has given a major update on Shubman Gill's health.

The Indian cricket squad is experiencing a lot of anxiety before their first game of the Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday. Shubman Gill, a star batter for India, is a questionable starter for Sunday's game against Australia because he may have dengue. If Gill is declared out, Ishan Kishan could start the innings. The Indian Cricket Board has not yet made the illness's type official. "He's not feeling well, and the medical staff is keeping a tight eye on him. We are hope that he recovers quickly. More information from the medical team will have to wait till then, according to the Indian Cricket Board medical update.

India head coach Rahul Dravid has given more update on star batter's health, "The medical team is monitoring on daily basis. We have 36 hours, we'll see what decision they take. He's certainly feeling better today. Medical team hasn't ruled him out as yet. We'll keep monitoring him on a day to day basis. We'll see how he feels day after tomorrow. He's certainly feeling better today," Dravid said during a press conference.

The recent most productive ODI batsman for India, Gill, is reportedly suffering from a high temperature and will be tested for dengue on Friday before a decision is made.

Shubman Gill's health concerns cast shadow over India's ODI World Cup opener

The recent most productive ODI batsman for India, Gill, is reportedly suffering from a high temperature and will be tested for dengue on Friday before a decision is made.

Gill is reportedly undergoing another dengue test, and if the results are positive, he may have to miss a few games.
A player must typically recuperate from dengue for 7 to 10 days before returning to play. It might take a lot longer, though, if the platelet count drops significantly.

While Gill might not play against Australia, there is a good likelihood that he won't against Pakistan on October 14 and Afghanistan on October 11 if the rehabilitation takes longer than expected.

"Shubman has had high fever since landing in Chennai. His tests are being done. He will have tests on Friday and a call will be taken on his participation in the opening game," a Indian Cricket Board's source told the media.
