The Indian cricket team is playing almost perfect cricket during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. Rohit Sharma and his men have won eight games in a row before playing the Netherlands on Sunday. Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has sounded alarm bells for the men in blue ahead of the 1st semi-final on Wednesday.

New Zealand and India will replay their 2019 ODI World Cup semi-finals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Kiwis had beaten the Indian side in what was the last game for MS Dhoni in Indian colours.

Team India beat the Kiwis during their league phase game in Dharamshala by four wickets. Virat Kohli top scored with 95 as India registered a win against the Black Caps for the first time in two decades in ODI World Cup history.

“If they miss out this time..' Ravi Shastri’s stark warning to team India –

Former Indian skipper and national coach Ravi Shastri has sent a huge warning to the Indian cricket team. The 61-year-old asked the Indian team to make the best use of the current era which boasts some huge names to win the World Cup.

Ravi Shastri was a guest on a podcast called the Club Prairie Fire Podcast. The 61-year-old said, “If they miss out this time, they would have to wait another three World Cups for even thinking of trying to win it. The pool of players is such that 7-8 players are at their peak”.

The Indian bowling unit also came for heavy praise from Ravi Shastri who called it the best for the last 50 years. “It is the best attack in 50 years ever since white-ball cricket started”. The Indian pacers and spinners have wrecked- havoc against the teams they have come up against so far.

The Indian team reached the semi-finals in the last two editions in 2015 and 2019 with Ravi Shastri as the coach. India lost to Australia in the 2015 World Cup final four games under MS Dhoni. It was under Virat Kohli that India had lost to Kane Williamson and his side in Manchester.

The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli may not be around for the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa. The last time India won the World Cup was in 2011 when they beat Sri Lanka in the final in Mumbai under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
