WATCH: England captain Jos Buttler speaks about MS Dhoni before match against Sri Lanka in ODI WC 2023

Jos Buttler spoke about MS Dhoni in a show on Star Sports ahead of England's match in the ODI World Cup 2023. When asked about the thing he loves about India, Buttler was quick to reply that he loves MS Dhoni a lot. Buttler claimed that he is a huge fan of MS Dhoni and liked how the former Indian cricketer went about his things in his playing days. 

Buttler appreciated the calmness MS Dhoni brought in the middle with his presence in the field. "I am a huge MS Dhoni fan. I really enjoyed watching him go about his cricket. I am amused by his demeanour and ice-cool stature he presents behind the stumps. So, yeah. I think as a wicketkeeper batter, MS is right up there among the bests," said Buttler. 

Ahead of the match between England and Sri Lanka, Buttler is under a bit of pressure to deliver as both captain and batter. So far in the tournament, Buttler has not been in great form with the bat. The winning record of England has not been good in the tournament, which has not helped Buttler either. There is a huge criticism for him to improve his batting and captaincy. 

Crucial battle between England and Sri Lanka in Bengaluru

With just a win in 4 appearances each, both England and Sri Lanka will be eyeing to make a comeback in the tournament. England lost its first match of the tournament against New Zealand. In the second match, England overcame Bangladesh. In the third match, England faced an upset from Afghanistan. In their previous match, England lost to South Africa by a huge margin. 

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, conceded a record total of 428 runs against South Africa and started the tournament on a losing note. In the second match, Sri Lanka conceded the record run chase in the history of ODI World Cups against Pakistan. In the third match, Sri Lanka lost to Australia and came back well against Netherlands to claim their first win of the tournament.
