Thomas Muller wishes team India ahead of World Cup 2023 opener.

The World Cup has begun with a bang. The first match between England and New Zealand started the mega event in a grand fashion. All the captains were present in the 'Captains Corner event, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Men in Blue are currently in Chennai preparing for their World Cup opener against Australia, on Sunday, October 8. India is the favourites to win the World Cup due to their home conditions. 4

Ahead of their opener against Australia, German legendary footballer, Thomas Muller congratulated the Indian cricket team for the first match of the World Cup. In the previous edition which was the 2019 World Cup, the footballer wished success to Virat Kohli, India, and other teams, who was the captain at that time in the previous edition. Muller is the World Cup champion with Germany. 

India is currently the No.1 side in every format of the game. They are the first Asian side to achieve this feat. The Rohit Sharma-led side has recently become the Asian champions for the 8th time. As per the reports, India might miss their star opener Shubman Gill against Australia as he suffering from dengue. It will be a big miss for the side with the form he is going through.

Bayern Munich striker, Harry Kane is a fan of former India skipper Virat Kohli. He wished the Indian team and Kohli success in 2019. Apart from the two, Davy Lewis was another footballer who wished the Indian team good luck for the previous editions.
