Weather Update from Delhi

The ODI World Cup 2023 has begun with a bang. England and New Zealand faced off against each other in the opening game. On Saturday, it is a double-header and the first match Bangladesh is currently facing Afghanistan at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala. Then, the campaign moves to Delhi where Sri Lanka will face the South Africans who are in sensational form before coming into this tournament. 

Dasun Shanaka and Temba Bavuma will lead their respective sides for the first time in the marquee event. Both the skippers have shown good form leading their respective sides in the mega event. Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla, now named Arun Jaitley Stadium, has been given new dressing rooms and seats for the spectators. The pitch has often assisted spin bowlers and spinners have enjoyed good success at this venue. It tends to offer a good turn and bounce for spinners as the match progresses. Here, the boundaries are quite short and the outfield is fast, fans can hope for a high-scoring clash between them. 

Weather Update from Delhi 

There is no rain predicted in New Delhi as of Saturday's weather report. The skies are likely to stay clear of dark clouds, with the temperature would be between 25 to 36 degrees Celsius. Fans can expect a full 50-over game for the respective sides. Both sides have a good mixture of young and experienced players in their side.  

 Sri Lanka head coach Chris Silverwood ahead of their clash said, "It would be huge if we could put a good show on here for them. And bring a smile back into the country's faces." These two sides have met once in the World Cup in 2015, where South Africa won by nine wickets at Sydney.
