A huge bomb blast was reported in Quetta in Pakistan’s Balochistan province that has resulted in injury to multiple individuals. According to Pakistani news site Dawn.com, the blast took place near the FC Mussa checkpoint, leaving more than five people injured on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, a PSL exhibition match was played between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta, Balochistan, where the match was stopped following the dramatic display of an unfortunate incident. On the other hand, a crowd of angry spectators set a fire outside the stadium after tickets were sold beyond capacity.
Along with this, the crowd present inside the stadium started pelting stones at the playing players. It is told in a report that there was a blast at Musa Chowk but it was far away from the stadium. The match had to be stopped immediately due to security reasons. Some players were not ready to return after the match resumed.
Iftikhar Ahmed hit six sixes in an over against Wahab Riaz
Talking about the match, alongside current stars of the Pakistan team, some former stars, including Shahid Afridi, are also in action. The 2023 PSL season will begin on February 13 and conclude on March 19. The National Stadium in Karachi, Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, Multan Cricket Ground, and Rawalpindi will host the matches. The summit clash and the playoffs will take place entirely in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Quetta's Iftikhar Ahmed's whirlwind knock has placed the Gladiators in a comfortable position. Ahmed smacked six sixes in the 20th over of the innings bowled by Wahab Riaz. The Peshawar Zalmi pacer was looking in great touch and had figures of 3/11 before bowling the last over. Riaz ended the innings with figures of 3/47, courtesy of six sixes from Iftikhar Ahmed.
It should be noted that Ifthikar’s first 50 came off at a sluggish rate. He took 42 balls to reach the mark. But Riaz’s one over changed the match and helped the team to achieve a good total of 185 runs in 20 overs. Zalmi have some big names like Babar Azam, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Haris, and Azam Khan in their lineup.
