Star India batter KL Rahul is struggling with poor form in Test cricket. India's vice-captain has failed to capitalize on opportunities and is unable to score runs in the longest format of the game. Despite his continual failures, the team management has backed him to get a run in the team. However, in the two innings against Australia, Rahul failed to score runs and build partnerships which created a stir over social media. Meanwhile, former India star Gautam Gambhir was seen having a long chat with Rahul.

Ahead of Day 3 of the second Test against Australia Gambhir went to Rahul and had a long chat with him. Notably, Gambhir is the mentor of the Lucknow franchise for which Rahul is a captain in the Indian T20 League. Rahul’s poor run in Tests has created a lot of buzzes especially when informed batters like Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav are sitting out of the team.

Earlier, Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad questioned the selection of KL Rahul in the team. He posted a thread of Tweets after the first match and questioned team management and the performance of KL Rahul. Prasad said that Rahul’s selection is not based on performance but it’s on favoritism. After another failure of KL Rahul in the second Test Prasad said, “And the torrid run continues. More to do with the rigidity of the management to persist with a player who just hasn’t looked the part. No top-order batsman in at least the last 20 years of Indian cricket has played these many tests with such a low average. His inclusion is….”

"Rohit Sharma gave me sleepless nights", said Gautam Gambhir

Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir was one of the best white ball batters India has ever seen. With his vital knocks in finals of the 20-20 World Cup 2007 and 50-over World Cup 2011, he has proven his legacy. However, in a recent interview, Gambhir named Rohit Sharma as a captain who gave him sleepless nights. “It’s a difficult question, but the answer is very simple. If I have to pick two players, I have an easy answer. My first player would be Rohit Sharma, and the second would be Yuvraj Singh. I didn’t need any other player apart from these two. I’m not saying we would be having a perfect team, but we would’ve won more than two titles,”, said Gambhir.

However, fans react to his meeting with KL Rahul on social media. A Twetter user wrote, “Orange Cap ki taiyari chalu.’
