There is big news coming in from the Delhi Capitals (DC) camp. Mitchell Marsh will miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 for a week as he will fly back to Australia for his wedding. With the allrounder not being available for a week, DC could bring in someone like Rowman Powell. The man from the Caribbean had a good season for DC in 2022. The West Indian can add more firepower to an out-of-form batting lineup.

DC have not had a good IPL so far. They have lost two in two. The overseas players have fired for DC and scored runs and also picked up wickets to give some semblance to the unit. But the big letdown for DC has been the Indian players. Prithvi Shaw has not been among the runs. Sarfaraz Khan has not got going with the bat either.

Delhi have not won the IPL in 15 editions

The Indian bowling of DC has not fired as well. The likes of Chetan Sakaria, Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed have been patchy and inconsistent. The bowling has been costly for DC at the death. DC are without the services of Rishabh Pant for this season. The left-handed batter is in rehabilitation and is recovering from the injuries that he sustained due to the car accident in December 2022.

In the first match that DC played against Lucknow, they gave away 193 runs with the bat. In the second innings of that match, they were blown away by Mark Wood who picked up a five-wicket haul. Delhi lost the game by 50 runs. In the next match against Gujarat Titans, In the second game, DC were shot down by the GT bowlers for just 163, In the chase, the DC bowling could not pin down GT's batting depth.

DC have not won the IPL in 15 editions. They made it to the finals of the IPL in 2019. In 2008, DC under the name of Delhi Daredevils qualified for the semi-finals where they lost to Rajasthan Royals. Delhi will want to get their act together as the tournament heads into its second week.
