The Indian cricket team is the favourite for each and every expert to make it to the final four. When it comes to picking the rest of the teams, the former players in question have had to debate. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan though has taken this chance to ruffle a few Aussie feathers.

Michael Vaughan is no stranger to having a bit of fun on social media. The former English legend has yet again stoked a huge debate after his latest tweet went viral. The fans are now debating if Michael Vaughan’s prediction is based on ability or just banter.

Michael Vaughan picks his semifinal teams with a glaring omission-

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan took to Twitter on Monday. The 48-year-old named his four World Cup semi-finals. Michael Vaughan wrote, “Can’t wait for the World Cup to start this week. My four semi-finalists will be England, South Africa, India, and Pakistan”.

Michael Vaughan did not name Australia as one of the sides that are likely to make the semi-finals. This outraged lots of fans who did not agree with the prediction of the former England skipper.

Australia is the most successful side in ODI World Cup history with five titles. England on the other hand are the defending World Champions having won it in 2019. Many fans also questioned Michael Vaughan over the inclusion of Pakistan.

In a tweet sent out six days ago, Michael Vaughan wrote “I reckon this England team would make the World Cup Semis”. Vaughan had clearly termed India the favourite for the 2023 ODI World Cup. The former English skipper alluded to the fact on Twitter when he said that the team that beats India will win the tournament.

England are scheduled to face New Zealand in the first game of the tournament. Their biggest challenge will be up against India. The two teams meet on the 29th of October in Lucknow. A few days later England will face Australia on the 4th of November in Ahmedabad in what promises to be a spicy contest.
