In the 20th game of the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 2024), Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi played the reverse fixture among them. In the last game between both teams, the 2017 winners won a thriller last month. Ahead of this game, both teams were in the top four. Meanwhile, in this game, the Yellow Brigade won the toss and elected to bowl first.

They had a good start as Saim Ayub took the wickets of Alex Hales and Colin Munro inside the first three overs and 28 runs on the board. At this stage, Agha Salman and skipper Shadab Khan put together 65 runs for the third wicket in 7.2 overs. The former scored 37 off 25 balls including four fours and two sixes.

On the other hand, Khan scored 80 off 51 balls including four fours and six sixes. After them, Jordan Cox and Azam KhanΒ stayed unbeaten and helped the team get to 196/4.

Aamer Jamal tried his best but Islamabad United managed to return the favour

In reply, the 2017 winners had a poor start as they lost five wickets for 18 runs including the wicket of skipper Babar Azam. At this stage, the likes of Aamer Jamal and Paul Walter put together 107 runs. They weren't looking like giving up on the match and tried to take the team forward. However, Walter made it difficult for his batting partner and failed to accelerate as he scored 33 off 29 balls including five fours.Β 

On the other hand, Jamal scored 87 off 49 balls including eight fours and five sixes before being removed by Shadab Khan. In the end, the former champions were bowled out for 167/9, losing the game by 29 runs. For the Red Army (two-time winners), Khan took three wickets while Hunain Shah and Rumman Raees took two each. On the other hand, Naseem Shah took one. With this win, they have managed to improve their NRR.
