In the third season of the Road Safety World Series, Pakistan might make its debut. The first two seasons (2020-21 and 2022) were played in India and the Green Brigade didn't play. In season one started in 2020 and concluded in 2021, teams such as India, Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and West Indies participated. However, the tournament was postponed midway due to COVID-19.

When the tournament restarted two years back, Australia pulled out because of pandemic restrictions. England and Bangladesh came into the fold because of this. Last September, the second season of the tournament was played. Alongside, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, Australia, West Indies, and Bangladesh, New Zealand was added too. With the inclusion of Pakistan, it will be a nine-team affair.

Due to strained political relations between India and Pakistan, Pakistan didn't play in the first two seasons. This time around, the tournament will be played in England. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have reportedly approved the permission to stage the tournament (As reported by ESPNcricinfo).

India is the holder of the Road Safety World Series

Notably, India Legends are the holders of the tournament. In both seasons, they played against Sri Lanka and thrashed them in both summit clashes. They will have the opportunity to make it three out of as many. Talking about the upcoming season, it is reported that it might be played at the end of English summer, i.e. first two to three weeks of September.

The international season at home has already ended and The Hundred will end at the end of this month. On the other hand, the fans will get treated with nostalgia as former India and Pakistan players will play each other. Legends of both teams have had a great deal of friendship over the years.
