‘Party badal lia’ – Fans react to Ajay Jadeja joining Afghanistan team coaching staff for 2023 ODI World Cup

Afghanistan heads into the 2023 Cricket World Cup as one of the most exciting teams. Their first game of the tournament is up against Bangladesh on the 7^th of October at Dharamsala. With the likes of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz the Afghans will be keenly watched.

Former Indian star Ajay Jadeja has joined the Afghan side as their team mentor for the 2023 ODI World Cup. The 52-year-old was an integral part of the Indian team in the 1990s. Despite having a good bowling attack, Afghanistan have been let down by their batting on many occasions.

Afghanistan is playing its third ODI World Cup. Their last two appearances during the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cup created lots of memories. One of the most famous games involved India where Mohammad Shami’s hat-trick earned India a close win.

Bit of Jaddu Magic for Afghanistan Cricket Team –

Former Indian star Ajay Jadeja has been called up to be the team mentor for the Afghanistan Cricket Team. The 52-year-old was seen sharing his tips and tricks with the Afghan players. Jadeja will bring a lot of experience to a side that has been inconsistent with the bat in recent times.

This is the first time Afghanistan is set to play the World Cup in known conditions. The likes of Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan are huge names in India thanks to the IPL. Youngsters like Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman and Rahmanullah Gurbaz too have found a huge following in India.

Afghanistan is scheduled to play against India on the 11^th of October in New Delhi. This is the first time Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq will face each other after their spat. The two players had a huge spat during the IPL game between Bangalore and Lucknow.

Chennai will witness the electric encounter between Afghanistan and Pakistan on the 23^rd of October. The two teams have over the years played lots of classic encounters. Afghanistan on those occasions has fallen short and faced heartbreaks.

The inclusion of Ajay Jadeja is a welcome and necessary step. The former Indian star’s experience and cricketing acumen will serve the Afghans well.
