India and Australia will be clashing against each other in the Test Championship final on June 7 at ‘The Oval’. The championship is a golden opportunity for the top test-playing nation to claim the title of the Test champion of the world and this year the final will be played between the two cricket giants of the world. However, this is the 2nd time India have qualified for the finals, they played the final in 2021 against New Zealand but couldn’t win the title.

Meanwhile, ahead of the grand contest, Australian skipper Pat Cummins met the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Indian PM is currently on a business trip in Australia. On social media, the photo of Cummins and Modi shaking hands is going viral. The image documents a memorable meeting between the Prime Minister and these well-known individuals that took place during his visit to Australia. It represents the meeting point of politics, sports, and diplomacy.

Many Indian Players have left for England

Since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, which was played earlier this year in India, the 30-year-old pacer has been sidelined. After Australia lost the second Test in New Delhi, Cummins went back home to Sydney to be by his mother's side as she receives palliative care for breast cancer. In Cummins' absence, Steve Smith led the Australian team in India.

Speaking of Indian players, the former captain of India, Virat Kohli, has already left for England along with Mohammed Siraj, R Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Aniket Choudhary (net bowler), Akash Deep (net bowler), and Yarra Prithviraj (net bowler), as their teams have been eliminated from the current 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

However Indian captain Rohit Sharma is busy with as his franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) are playing the eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Wednesday, May 24.
