It won’t be wrong to say that the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was one of the most successful seasons in the history of the cash-rich league. The restrictions which were put on the league in the past few years because of the Covid 19 were removed in 2023 which helped the tournament to gain more profit this time.
Meanwhile, IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal talked about the IPL and said that there is no league in the world that is even close to IPL. Dhumal believes that the record viewership IPL gained this season makes it the no. 1 league in the world. Dhumal sent his best wishes to all the cricket boards around the world who will start their own T20 leagues soon but also claimed that none of them can be a threat to IPL.
“We don’t see anyone else as our competition, there is none even close to IPL. Our best wishes to all the boards starting their own T20 leagues, but I don’t think any of them can be a threat to IPL. It (IPL) has been a phenomenal success, and largely because of the sheer competitiveness of this year’s tournament,” Dhumal was quoted as saying by News 18.
We got a phenomenal response from the fans: Arun Dhumal
Dhumal continued to heap praise on IPL 2023 and said that the season saw multiple last-over thrillers due to which the viewers were entertained a lot and also gave phenomenal responses. Dhumal added that their broadcasting and digital partners are very happy to see the success of the league.
“Most of the matches went down to the wire and there were plenty of last-over thrillers. We got a phenomenal response from the fans. Our viewership grew manifold and our broadcast and digital partners both are excited. Even the in-stadia experience of the fans has been phenomenal, and going forward it’s only going to get better," he added.

When Dhoni, Kohli left playing the IPl then we don't get the same craze among the fans. It's their craze why this has been a top league.
