On 8 July 2023, both Men and Women were in action in the ongoing Wimbledon tournament. But, fans were left surprised as Sam Curran was seen attending the grand slam from the stands. An image has gone viral where he was seen acknowledging the crowd by standing up. Seeing that, fans shared their views on social media.  

Curran is currently busy playing in the T20 Blast for Surrey. However, he has failed to perform brilliantly so far in both the batting and bowling department. In 15 innings, he has scored 391 runs, including four fifties. While with the ball, he has taken 15 wickets, including a five-wicket haul. His performance has helped the team to get qualified for the semi-final.

Sam Curran had a disappointing IPL 2023 for PBKS

However, England are playing against Australia in England currently. But. as of now, he has not been considered in the red-ball format. Sam Curran last played a Test match in 2021. Speaking of the image, he found himself a special seat at the Royal Box During Day Six of the Championships. On 7 July, he was in action as Surrey took on Lancashire in Manchester in the second quarter-final of the tournament. Speaking of the match, Surrey skipper, Chris Jordan won the toss and opted to bat first.

While batting first, they scored 187 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Laurie Evans and Jason Roy scored 70 and 50 runs respectively. Curran scored only 17 runs off 15 balls, including two fours. In reply, Lancashire scored only 174 runs for six wickets in 20 overs and Surrey won the game by 13 runs. However, Curran conceded 35 runs in four overs without a single wicket. Even, despite having a huge price tag of INR 18.50 Crore, this England young all-rounder had a poor IPL 2023 season for Punjab Kings (PBKS). In 14 matches, he scored just 276 runs along with 10 wickets with the ball. Hence, fans were left disappointed with the overall contribution of this star player.
