Delhi Capitals (DC) will be clashing against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 64th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Wednesday, May 17. DC's hopes to qualify for the playoffs have already ended after unfavourable results early on in the tournament. They are at the bottom of the points table with only 8 points in 12 matches.

Meanwhile, DC’s head coach and former legendary Australian captain Ricky Ponting recently introduced his Wine brand called ‘Ponting Wines' to the Indian Market as he launched it at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, the passengers weren’t aware of the launch event and were really happy to see the legend. 

Expressing his enthusiasm, Ponting shared, "As a passionate admirer of both cricket and fine wine, I am thrilled to bring Ponting Wines to India. This country holds a special place in my heart, and I am delighted to share the exceptional quality and taste of Ponting Wines with my incredible fans here." Ponting was quoted as saying by editorji.

Will DC ruin the game for PBKS?

Dharamsala will become the 12th venue to host an IPL game this season and is the home base of Punjab Kings for their last two matches. Dharamsala has hosted just two T20 matches since Jan 2018 - both during Sri Lanka's tour to India in 2022. Both matches were won by chasing sides. The Pacers picked up 14 wickets compared to just three by spinners.

Delhi Capitals, who became the first team to get out of the race, now have an opportunity to play party-poopers in their last two matches. And the first team can be PBKS who are currently placed eighth on the points table with 12 points but they have the opportunity to finish with 16 and move on to the next round, which they have been unable to do since finishing as runners-up in 2014, ending up in the sixth spot in the last four seasons. However, it won’t be easy for them to defeat DC as they have nothing to lose now.
