Team India have recently acquired a new kit sponsor. The new jerseys in formats were released ahead of the much-anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 Final against Australia. In fact, the coveted final became the first official match where the men’s team sported the new jersey. Unfortunately, the first match in the new jersey was a rather forgettable affair for the Indian Team.

The consecutive finalists were thoroughly beaten by the mighty Aussies as the Men in Blue came out on the losing side by a massive 209-run margin. However, there also have been positive news elsewhere. The new jersey was also worn by India A women’s team that recently won the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023. In more recent news, India’s former explosive opener, Virender Sehwag posted photos in the new jersey.

Virender Sehwag recently named Pat Cummins as the new Mr. Cool

One of India’s most loved openers, Virender Sehwag, posted his photos on social media in the new India ODI jersey. The photos went viral in no time as fans trolled India’s current opening batter and skipper Rohit Sharma. Comparing the duo, many called for a return for Virender Sehwag to the limited-overs game.

However, recently Virender Sehwag made the news with his statement announcing Australian Test skipper Pat Cummins as the new Mr. Cool, a title generally held by MS Dhoni. After the first Test of Ashes 2023 that Pat Cummins and his men won by 2 wickets, Sehwag took to Twitter to express his appreciation for the Kangaroo’s skipper.

He wrote, "What a Test Match. One of the best I have seen in recent times. Test Cricket is Best Cricket. Was a gutsy decision by England to declare just before close on Day 1, especially considering the weather. But Khawaja was outstanding in both innings and Pat Cummins is the new Mr. Cool in Test cricket. What an innings under pressure and that partnership with Lyon was one to remember for a long time.”
