On Tuesday, the SA 20 Qualifier 1 match between Durban's Super Giants (DSG) and Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SUNE) went underway. SA20 has seen many players set the stage on fire with phenomenal catches. During the game, the defending champions skipper Aiden Markram did something out of the blue. Markram took a brilliant one-handed flying catch during the game. His catch video has been viral on social media and gaining popularity as well.

Ottniel Baartman, who was bowling, dismissed JJ Smuts, who was back in the pavilion, after a brilliant catch by Markram. Smuts intended to pull towards mid-on of the final ball of the fourth over, where the all-rounder had tactically positioned himself. As the pull shot was mistimed, he flew to his left, making a one-handed catch while throwing himself in mid-air. Markram's acrobatics astonished a packed Cape Town, and the SUNE squad went to the skipper to congratulate him on his efforts.

Durban lost two early wickets, Tony de Zorzi and Matthew Breetzke, and were reduced to 13/2 in 3.1 overs while chasing 158. Quinton de Kock was joined by JJ Smuts in the middle to continue the Super Giants' run-chase. However, Ottniel Baartman dismissed Smuts early for a duck at 13/3.

Wasn’t much of it: Aiden Markram

The reigning champions won the game by 51 runs as DSG were bowled out for 106 runs. But the Super Giants, who have been in sensational form in the tournament, will have another chance to qualify for the final as they will meet the winner of the Eliminator game between Paarl Royals (PR) vs Joburg Super Kings (JSK).

After winning the game, the Sunrisers captain said, "Wasn’t much of it (team talk at halfway stage) to be honest. The team is full of characters who want to fight and I am fortunate that they were up for it today. We focus quite a lot on conditions, see what is our best chance to win and execute those plans. The wicket changed a lot before the rain and after rain. We have had a busy week and to get an extra couple of days off will be great."
