Durban Super Giants (DSG) beat MI Cape Town (MICT) by 11 runs

Durban Super Giants (DSG) beat MI Cape Town (MICT) by 11 runs in the DLS method on Thursday. DSG captain Keshav Maharaj won the toss and was elected to field first. The decision went against them as Kieron Pollard's side started explosively from the start. With opener Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton scoring 56 runs in the first 5 overs of the game the latter was the one who was more fiery between the two.

They stitched an opening partnership of 87 runs before Rassie was back in the pavilion. They kept on losing wickets at intervals but runs got leaked while Rickelton was batting. At one stage it was looking like the team would score more than 210. But they were restricted to 207/5. Pollard's small cameo towards the end helped them score the total. 

Rickelton was the only batter to score a half-century. Keemo Paul was the pick of the bowlers for the side picking up two wickets. Skipper Maharaj was expensive in his 2 overs leaking out 26 runs. Reece Topley gave away 53 runs and could not pick up a single wicket in his 4-over spell. 

Klassen leads DSG to historic win 

Rickelton scored 87 runs off 51 deliveries, hitting 6 fours and as many sixes. The batter was the only one who helped them go past 200 runs. Liam Livingstone and Rassie scored 25 runs and 24 runs respectively. The skipper scored 31 off 14 balls striking at a rate of 221.42, smashing 4 fours and 1 six. 

In reply to this, DSG lost their opener Quinton de Kock first and then Wiaan Mulder in the first two overs. Mathew Breetzke and Keemo Paul scored 52 runs in 6 overs. Soon after the latter was dismissed after scoring 15 off 13 balls. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals Breetzke was dismissed after scoring 39 off 24 deliveries. Heinrich Klassen was the aggressor in the innings as he was hitting explosively, Nicholas Pooran could not showcase his power and was back after scoring 11 off 8. The former was back in the pavilion after scoring a fighting 85 runs off 35 deliveries. The rain helped them chase the target as the DSG were 11 runs ahead in the DLS method.
