'Sab kam batting wale ki karega kya' - Fans react as Kolkata Knight Riders lose to SRH in a nerve-jangler at the Eden Gardens in IPL 2023

Sunrisers Hyderabad registered their second successive win in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders. SRH defeated the Knight Riders at their home ground at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday in the 19^th match, to gain the benefit of a spot in the points table of the tournament. The KKR skipper Nitish Rana had the upper hand at the time of the toss and decided to bowl first.

Although his decision was proved absolutely wrong by the star England batter and sensational Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Harry Brook. Batting first, the orange army posted a very good total of 228 runs for the loss of only four wickets in 20 overs.

Coming back to Harry Brook, he smashed a swashbuckling century knock of 100 runs off just 55 balls with 12 boundaries and 3 sixes to his name. Apart from the 24-year-old, skipper Aiden Markram also played a captaincy knock of 50 runs off just 26 balls with two boundaries and five sixes with the wood followed by Abhishek Sharma’s 32-run knock to help SRH reach the total of 228 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While defending the target, The visitors’ bowling lineup restricted Nitish Rana’s men to the score of only 205 runs for the loss of seven wickets to win the match by 23 runs. It was only skipper Rana and middle-order batter Rinku Singh who scored 75 and 58 runs respectively to take their team closer to the target. ‘

Marco Jansen and Mayank Markande scalped two wickets each alongside one wicket each claimed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, and T Natrajan.

Eventually, Harry Brook won the ‘Player of the Match award for his sensational and swashbuckling century in favour of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
