On Wednesday, India plays their third and final ODI against Australia. They already have won the three-match series after they won the first two ODIs. The Men in Blue have shown their dominant performance against the mighty Aussies. They have secured the No.1 spot after they beat them in the first ODI.
India has a brilliant chance to white-wash the Kangaroos and create history. Never ever India has whitewashed Australia in the ODI format. Neither of them has achieved such a result, home or away. With the World Cup in a few days, India will have a massive boost ahead of their opener against Australia in Chennai.
India rested their top batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for the first two ODIs. But the start players have returned in the last ODI. According to the reports, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Shami haven’t joined the team in Rajkot and might be given rest keeping the workload in mind.
Ishan Kishan to replace Gill for the opening slot
India now has 13 players for the last ODI, Kishan will be the obvious choice to open with skipper Rohit Sharma who will make a comeback after he was rested in the first two ODIs. Veteran batter Virat Kohli will be returning to the No. 3 slot. It will be a good chance at some batting practice against Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood have chances to play in the final ODI.
Axar Patel will be out of the squad for some more days. As he continues to nurse his injury at the NCA, Bengaluru. India might give Washington Sundar a chance in place of Ravindra Jadeja or Ravichandran Ashwin in the final match.
Mohammed Siraj was rested in the first two ODIs and might come back with Mohammed Shami being rested. Jasprit Bumrah only played the first ODI with Prasidh Krishna replacing him in the second. Kuldeep Yadav will have some game time as he the wrist spinner was given a break in the two ODIs.
