Finally, the young and dynamic batter Tilak Varma is making his ODI debut for India in the final Super Four stage match of the Asia Cup 2023 against Bangladesh, held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on September 17. This decision comes after India secured their place in the ACC event's summit clash with a win against Sri Lanka in a low-scoring match.

The Indian team management has made several changes to the lineup for the match against Bangladesh. The left-hand batter received his ODI cap from captain Rohit Sharma before the match. Other players making their way into the starting XI are Suryakumar Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Shami, and Shardul Thakur.

The 20-year-old batter has gained recognition for his impressive stroke play during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, and his inclusion in the ODI squad reflects his promising talent. In T20 internationals, the 20-year-old southpaw has already played seven matches, amassing 174 runs at an average of 34.80. In the IPL 2023, he scored 343 runs in 11 appearances at an impressive average of 42.88 while representing the Mumbai Indians.
