Former legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar made his Indian Premier League debut against Kolkata Knight Riders but didn’t get any wickets as he bowled only 2 overs. However, he got another chance against Surisers Hyderabad and the 2nd match of his IPL career brought the first wicket for him.

Sachin was overwhelmed by his son’s performance and couldn’t stop himself to appreciate him as he tweeted after MI’s wonderful victory against SRH in which Arjun played a big role by defending 20 runs in the last over. The young allrounder conceded only 4 runs in the final over and also picked up a wicket. After the match, Sachin tweeted, "A superb all-round performance by Mumbai Indians once again. Cameron Green impressed with both bat & ball. Ishan & Tilak’s batting is as good as it gets! The IPL is getting more interesting every day. Great going boys! And finally a Tendulkar has an IPL wicket!"

I am happy to bowl anytime the captain asks me to: Arjun Tendulkar

Arjun himself talked about his bowling after MI's victory against SRH by 15 runs. Arjun said that he was focused to execute the plan of bowling wide as the team wanted the batter to hit to the longer side. The 23-year-old said that he and his father talk about cricket and the strategy before the game.

“It was great getting my first IPL wicket. I just had to focus on what was in hand, the plan, and executing it. Our plan was just to bowl wide and get the long boundary into play, making the batsman hit it to the longer side. I love bowling, I am happy to bowl anytime the captain asks me to and just stick to the team plan and give my best. We (Sachin Tendulkar and him) talk about cricket, we discuss tactics before the game and he tells me to back what I practice every game. I just focused on my release, bowling good lengths and lines up front. If it swings, it's a bonus, if it doesn't, so be it." Arjun said in the post-match conference.
